CAC (Copper Aluminum Copper) & Aluminum Products
Superior surface quality important to producers of increasingly high technology products.

PCB manufacturers and laminators benefit from the cost savings inherent in using Gould’s revolutionary CAC® (Copper Aluminum Copper) product. CAC foil reduces labor costs by replacing three individual pieces for each board, eliminates several cleaning steps, lowers pre-lamination time, can increase productivity by 50 percent or more and offers press plate, material and fabrication savings.

Additionally, CAC foil provides superior surface quality important to producers of increasingly high technology products. It is used primarily on glass-reinforced printed circuit boards for higher-end applications in telecommunications, computers and industrial controls. The product line has application as the outerlayer for multilayer boards, as well as innerlayer laminate.

CAC (Copper Aluminum Copper) is Gould’s trademarked and patented product featuring the shiny (or resist) side of the foil attached around the perimeter of an aluminum separator sheet. The copper foil is attached in a clean room to one or both sides of the separator, based on the application. CAC was patented by JJA (Johnson & Johnston Associates) in 1992, and was licensed for specific markets by Gould in 1993.

In 2000, JJA became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gould. Through this acquisition, Gould expanded its product line to include JJA’s Duofoil® multilayer board separator sheets, B-10 solid aluminum entry foil and the RDM resin deburr machine. These additions to the CAC family of products result in Gould meeting the spectrum of customer needs.

Gould’s expanded CAC product line includes Duofoil separator sheets and B-10 aluminum entry foil.
